At the head of the chain

Everything the audience saw on that wall was decided at our server.

Stan Kellam had come on as video director the year before, for the arena run, and brought us out to program and operate. Our Disguise server sat at the head of the chain. We called when IMAG was on the walls, when and how Notch effects were applied, and how the content appeared in every song - at the same moment, every night.

The design came from Mitchell Schellenger at Station Six and the content from GREATWORK. Our job was landing all of it exactly where it was supposed to be.

The encore

The LED wall was see-through, and they built a nine-bay grid behind it.

For the encore the band and members of the crew climbed into the bays and played a drum solo, choreographed against lighting, video and performance. It had to be in sync every night.

We helped build a way to test it, record it, and then run it properly - while the rest of the show was being put together in four days of rehearsals.
