Jimmy Buffett’s Bubbles Up
“Bubbles Up” was released after Jimmy Buffett’s death. Clever Edits was brought on by producer Stan Kellam to make the lyric video.
The window was days, not weeks. The song was going out with or without anything to go with it, and there was no version of the schedule where a traditional pipeline finished in time.
It was the first thing we ever built in Unreal Engine. That was not a stylistic choice. Real-time meant lighting, camera and environment changes came back in minutes instead of overnight, which was the only way to arrive at a finished look inside the time available. After Effects handled the finish.
We had already spent thirteen years designing video wall content for Jimmy’s live show, so no time went into learning the material.

Twenty-five hours from start to finish.
It was also the foundation. Every 3D project we have delivered since runs on the pipeline built for this one.
